Outokumpu

Austenitic stainless steels

Outokumpu can offer material selection problems across a wide range of applications.

Austenitic stainless steels offer flexibility of both metallurgical and mechanical properties, providing a blend of corrosion resistance, durability and ease of manipulation, as well as aesthetic, hygienic and low maintenance characteristics in the soft (annealed) form.

Austenitic stainless steels are an adaptable group of low carbon 16 - 28% chromium steels with 3.5% to 32% nickel. They provide users with outstanding corrosion resistance, combined with ease of fabrication, excellent formability and weldability.

Typical austenitic stainless steel grades include European Standard grades 1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4310, 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4571, 1.4541 or alternative steel grade designations to ASTM, AISI or BS 1449.

Outokumpu offers a wide range of austenitic stainless steel grades. Sizes offered range in thickness from 0.03 mm to 1.2 mm and in width from 3.5 mm to 450 mm.
